“STAND FOR WHAT YOU STAND FOR… AND NOTHING MORE”
Today’s Principle: If you don’t take a stand, you will fall.
“It’s never the people who have done what you have done that have an opinion, it’s always the people who have never done – nor will ever do what you’ve done that will have the biggest opinions about what you ‘should’ be doing.”
–Garrett J White
POINT #1 THE DRIFT
No matter who you are, this is the pattern: Status Quo —> Trigger/Event —> Feelings —> Stories —> Actions —> Results. The downward descent where you experience anger, blame, guilt and shame is known as the Drift.
POINT #2 THE PIT
At the bottom of the Drift is where you experience the Pit – the Pit of despair, darkness, unworthy, unaccepted, and eventually apathy. There are two paths from the Pit: 1- moves that cause growth, and 2-the False Lift.
POINT #3 THE FALSE LIFT
You experience the False Lift when you choose to climb your way out of the Pit in a false pattern of attempting to return to how things were before you drifted, which becomes the karmic loop of insanity where you’re stuck in the constant state of drifting. “If I could just go back before” is the thought process.
POINT #4 TAKING A STAND FOR YOU
One of the things you’re going to have to take a stand for is understanding YOU. You understanding yourself is a gateway to understanding others; you taking a stand for yourself is a gateway to taking a stand for others.
FINAL THOUGHTS
You can’t take a stand for somebody if you don’t take a stand for yourself; you can’t ultimately guide others if you haven’t guided yourself; you can’t be a beacon for others if you’re not a beacon for yourself
